As most of you likely know, our youth minister Justin Wadsworth has resigned his position due to having to relocate for family reasons. Because of the up and coming holidays, the Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee has agreed that we will not actively develop a search committee and pursue another youth minister for the position until the first of the year. In the meantime, we want to assure you that our youth will continue to get the valuable spiritual, biblical and social grounding that they have been receiving. Our current active adult volunteer leaders in youth ministry have committed to "step in the gap." We are asking for those of you who have youth in the ministry (and those that do not have youth) who are not currently involved to become a part of the ministry for the sake of the youth. We are proud to say that Bobby Peebles has agreed to coordinate as a volunteer, the youth ministry in the interim. You may contact him at bgpeebles@comcast.net. We are excited about what God is doing and is going to do in our youth group throughout the holiday season and in the year to come.
Mark your calendars for November 12th for the Youth Yard Sale. We have LOTS of stuff to sell and we are also selling ―spots‖ if you would like to sell your own stuff. If you would like to make a donation of items, please bring them to youth hall. Any questions, ask Cathy Hernandez or Tina Kelly.
It’s that time of year again! Christmas Trees will be here November 22nd! We will need help setting up the tree lot as soon as the tents are set up on November 10th and continuing until the trees are here and unloaded on November 19th. This is the Youth’s biggest fundraiser and funds raised will go towards summer missions and retreats. Last summer, we were able to take the youth to the Methodist Children’s Home, Bahamas Methodist Habitat, and a Student Life spiritual retreat all thanks to the funds they earned at the Christmas Tree Lot.

1st shipment of Christmas trees arrive

Tree Lot Hours: Mon-Friday 5:00 pm—8:00 pm; Saturday 10:00 am—6:00 pm; Closed on Sunday

The EKG Youth Group is made up of youth in the South Miami-Dade area that are in the 6th thru 12th grade.   We meet on Friday Nights from 7 pm to 10 pm for worship, praise and fellowship.  We have a good meal, followed by fun and games and other activities.  We end our evening with praise and worship in the sanctuary.
