Updates from the Pantry!
Wow! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we are hosting our Thanksgiving dinner once again here at First church? We pray that we will have a working oven in the kitchen before then. We know God will provide, we just need to be obedient. Keep a close look out in the bulletin for meeting times so we can all be a part of this time as we show Christ’s love and serve our community a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. We will also need pies, about 75 of them. You may fix pecan or pumpkin (I like them both). You can also make them early and we can store them in the freezer. The pantry is still open each Saturday as the Lord wills it and the need for receiving has grown to an average of 450 families (that's 450 x 4 in each family average brings in a total of 1800 men/women, and children). We thank you for
all that you do, as you pray for this ministry, as you pick up extra food and drop it by, as you help pickup the food serve on Saturdays, or as you write your check to the pantry. No matter what you do to help this ministry, the families that receive are thankful. This ministry does not stop with food only, we are also now partners with CHI of Homestead. They will be coming in on December 3 to put on a health fair during the hours the pantry is opened. Praise God! For what He has done and will do.

1 Peter 4:10-12 English Standard Version (ESV)
10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies— in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen

Acts 20:35
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
